About me

I am the Associate Director of Transdisciplinary Programs at the Denbo Center for Humanities and the Arts, housed on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. In addition to my primary research in 19th-century literature and literature of the U.S. South, I also entertain an interest in studying speculative fiction, particularly early American texts. I’m a native of Nashville, TN, and prior to my appointment at UTK, I had the pleasure of being a faculty member at Fisk University for over a decade.
